So the stag-do happened and there was no bloodshed..
It was ridiculously tame (my mate Steve is nicknamed Biddy for a reason) but cool to hang out with the whole gang of friends..it happens less and less as everyone's lives have trickled down their own paths.
They played a video of Steve from when he was in the band with me, I think we were 15 at the time and I had the most horrific curly-quiff-thing as a hairstyle. I also wore some terrible clothes and had this big brace on my teeth..
Yes my ex-best friend did turn up. He walked through the door and I turned round and caught his eye and we shared this peculiar loaded stare at each other. We avoided any contact but towards the end the Jack Daniels was kicking in and I was becoming more curious to speak to him. He then put on his coat to leave the place and I thought, "oh well, maybe next time"..
Then he was in front of me asking me how I was and I was kind of so suprised that I just started answering immediately and we talked quite pleasantly for a few minutes. He said we could speak more at Steve's wedding and then we shoke hands. He then turned round to leave, then turned back again and hugged me. Bizarre..
We wont ever be close friends again as the trust has been lost but I think we both know that we both interest each other and can get along on some level, which is good right?
