It's good to hear that you have come this far. I actually had an ex commit identify theft on me. Fortunately there were no debts but she did use my name on a rental property and now I have an eviction on my credit report. I obviously don't know anything about the situation but from what he did to you it sounds like a good thing that he was an ex. Of course the family is going to blame you and the sad thing is that you probably did more to help him then they ever did. It really sucks that you have to clean up the mess that he made of your life but consider it a learning experience.
