Last night was the first time in at least 5 years that I danced ballet in a studio. My body aches all over!
I realized that when I was much younger and taking ballet for all those years, my dance teacher taught me nothing. I knew all the terminology and the basic idea of what to do with my body, but my old dance teacher never taqught me the important little details that would have saved me from making a fool out of myself last night.
The class was suppose to be a beginner/intermediate class and I was told it was easy....let's just say that it is easy if you are a professional ballerina. The dancers in that class could do things that I could only dream of doing....
I am very proud of myself for sticking it out for the whole class though and I attempted everything that the others were doing. I hope that I can take the beginners class on Wednesdays....the class for the people with no prior ballet experience.
