My parents just had their 32 year Wedding Anniversary yesterday, which I think is awesome. I know first hand that many people in today's society don't truly understand what it means to be married. My wife left me 8 months after the accident stating she felt "overwhelmed" and "tired of this life" 
. The vows that one makes "for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health..." are not supposed to be just words and empty promises. Relationships are not EASY. You shouldn't be so quick to bail, just because you feel "tired", "overwhelmed", or because you can't wait for your spouse to get past something they are dealing with before it's "your turn to be taken care of". Especially not during that persons greatest time of need.
As the saying goes... Love isn't finding a perfect person. It's seeing an imperfect person perfectly. My brother and I can tell you that my parents have had their issues.... what true relationship doesn't? But no matter what, they have honored their vows to each other and set an example for me and my brother to follow.
Although I cannot say that my view in love and marriage have not been tainted due to my recent and current experiences, If/when I do find a person I want to share my life with... I can only hope that as a man I can be the kind of Husband that my father is and that the woman can be a strong, caring, nurturing, and of course GORGEOUS wife like my mother is; which is highly likely seeing as she will have to go through my mother.
