I'm just listening to the Ani Difranco song "As Is". God, don't we all wish someone would say that to us? This song reminds me of my friend who got me listening to Ani. I miss her alot. There was always something very special about that girl. She had the softest way about her. So much so I'd often wonder if she was human. Seriously though she would inspire everyone around her to take pause.

This makes me think of how often the art in our life is brought to our attention by our friends and family. I can almost name the person who intruduced me to each of the artists I now listen to.
I believe only one person on this site so far has that distinction. Thanks for turning me on to Nick Drake, Morgan!

So, who has turned you on? What have they tuned you into?

Earlier today I thinking about Rock and how long it and its various offspring have been a part of my life. My earliest memory of Rock(although I am positive I encountered it earlier) was being somewhere around 6 or 7 and seeing VanHalens video for "Jump". At that moment I knew I loved this thing called Rock.

So my question to you is when did you first fall in love with Rock?

Well, I first fell in LUST with rock at about age 7 or 8... watching Billy Idol on MTV. I had no idea it was lust at the time, but his sneer and his attitude did something to me that I couldn't understand at the time. wink

In Junior High, I started listening to The Pixies. I had loved all kinds of music for a long time, but I fell IN love with The Pixies.
