Been an ok day for me, not so good for an acquaintance of mine. It started out normal, woke up towards early afternoonish, foraged for sustenance, played a little Metal Gear, got a call from Jenn. She said one of her friends, girl I've met a few times here and there, sweet gal, was raped in Morrow Friday night. She said the girl's friends were mostly at home (away from the apartment/campus), but she went back to West Ga, because she didn't want to talk to her parents just yet. She said this girl thought I was a good guy, and she probably needed a nice guy around at this time. I argued against that point...first of all, I'm not that nice. Secondly, does she really wanna see any guys? I've had one friend before that went through a very similliar experience, and she didn't want to be around anyone. Then I realized, that's just as unhealthy, so I agreed to go after a little coaxing. Left my cell phone charging in my room, on the floor, however. My bad. Got a few missed calls. I'm pretty bad about that. Later on, we ate at that mexican place, on the boarder I think it was, in Carolton, and just talked about all kinds of stuff, had a few cheap beers too (I'm a liquor man, you know this, but also incredibly poor right now...). Went back to her apartment, her roomies were out so we decided to hog the t.v. in the living room and watch Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. I never get tired of those movies. Then we talked about Lost for a little while, hehe. Good times. The subject of what happened came up, however. We talked for a little while about that...I finally convinced her to go and report what happened. I know it might be a little late, but it's better than nothing. So many women try to hide it, and that isn't right. Guys like the one she told me about make me loose faith in humanity. More than I already had, of course. If I ever see him, it'll be a black day for sure. She's not one of those typical, party hard girls that semi invite it. Not that I'm saying they deserve it either, but she was completely, utterly innocent. She had been drinking, but was alone in her room, trying to sleep, and thought the door was locked. She didn't talk to the guy or invite anything at all beforehand. Anyway...after getting extremely pissed off, talking, and leaving the girls alone to talk for about thirty minutes (I got to play Zelda on SNES so it's all good in that hood), we eventually made our way back to Fayetteville. Now it's late and I'm sleepy and a little hungry again. But really, just ready for some sleep. I hope everyone has a nice weekend, and please be careful out in the world. Live like me if you have to (fortress gun-nut that locks everything at all times), so long as you're safe.
