How is it that music is the only thing that ever seems to be there when I really need it?

Sheesh, it's been far too long since I've logged on here. It nearly feels like I had a life outside of a computer. Nearly.

Aussie bands don't really make it anywhere else do they? Do you have any recomendations?
The Living End are criminally overlooked here but at least they're doing ok in the US. Why don't they ever play over here mad

Ok no more drunken posts/messages from me. I hope.
djinn:
Oh, but the drunken posts are the best.

Congratulations on the degree, I've never managed to stick with a course long enough.
blackphoenix:
Of course you have to tongue I'm busy distracting myself from the pain!

How the fuck do you upload an image. I want to show off the dodgy image I just took of my Engineering Degree which I just got today. Yes, finally after 7 years of university I have graduated.

Ugh. I have "Listen to Your Heart" (yes, the Roxette song) stuck in my head. And I haven't even listened to it recently.

New Tool album... let me just say WOW.

I'm not going to bother with a review or anything because I think words can't describe the experience, but I will say this is definitely another piece of art well worth my money.
mnislahi:
ooooh i have to get it!!

Don't see Scary Movie 4. Really. I mean it.

I saw the first one when it came out, and I think maybe a bit of the second one, and I at least smiled at times. The latest instalment, however, requires a lot of the viewer's strength (both mind and body) to be able to get a smile going more than about once.
steven:
Welcome, come in and introduce yourself.
blackphoenix:
^ Haha yay, you joined the nuthouse!

And back to my original point, now you have to buy yourself a ticket to the ball.

Do it. Or else I will send legions of flying monkeys to plague you wherever you go.

I need a new journal entry. I gotta start thinking of things to say. Although I'm not normally a journal type of guy...

Are you coming to the ball?
blackphoenix:
eeek What?!!! OK. Join now. Email Steven and ask for the info. And get your arse to Canberra on the 13th May for a rocking masquerade ball with SG-ers from all over the country. It'll be awesome!

Well I just got back from seeing BOTH Dylan Moran and the SG Burlesque show. What a fantastic night. Dylan was brilliant (especially in the second half of his show, he seemed less nervous by then), and then we rushed down to the Metro with about 5 mins to spare before the SG girls came on.

Man... let me just say that Reagan is fuckin...

Less nervous or more drunk? He's a pretty interesting cat to see perform.

It's in the park, somewhere between the bats and the Opera House.

For those 849 people that were amazingly helpful and vocal regarding my previous (virgin) entry, I'd like to announce that I am hoping to overcome the dilemma by simply going to both. Dylan Moran had better not go for too long. SG Burlesque had better start late. Well that's that sorted then.

Who's for coffee?

How did you get yourself in that dilema? Dylan Moran and Sg on the same night its a tricky one...

Yes, a blowtorch should sort out my wasp problem. I was thinking about going along the lets nuke the fucker route skull
blackphoenix:
Awww thanks, I feel slightly less like taking a shaver to my head now!

The tatt being in Chinese is just a weird thing I've got going lately, both my sister and I have become quite interested in Chinese culture and mythology; she's even been over there earlier this year, since Mum lives there. But there are some great ideas of the feminine in Chinese mythology, (that's actually where the name blackphoenix stems from), so it seems appropriate to have a sisterly tatt done in Chinese. But we'd definitely have the characters checked for accuracy before we got them tattoed! Nothing worse than having something written on you permanently that says "I am a twot"....

biggrin

God dammit I just realised I've got tickets to the burlesque show at the Metro on 7th April, and I've also got front row tickets to see Dylan Moran at the Everest Theatre on 7th April.

What's a guy to do??
brixton:
gross. ugg boots are nasty.
laplace:
Ugg boots are great. They feel just like a sheep on your feet. Not that I'd know what a sheep on my feet feels like though...
