Ok, time for a new blog, even though I don't have a hell of a lot to report. Overall, life has been good, but brutally stressful at work. Usually, the holidays are a great time at work. Very few people in the office, very few in our customers' offices. This year was an exception though, because there was a load of stuff that had to be done, I was the only one to do it, and with all the people on vaca, it was like pulling teeth to get anything done. The last week it's been keeping me up all hours and generally making my life hell.

I did have a nice low-key New Year's Eve, hanging out with Kinto, kiki_michelle, northsider, Apexxx, Unaffected and Spiked

Still, I've been running again 4-5x a week, and eating much better. It's painful, but feels good to do something constructive for myself. As a part of this, I've sworn off alcohol til April, although "technically" I broke that on Saturday, which leads to a story...

Saturday I went to see a play/performance called "The Game Show Show & Stuff", which as the name suggests is a parody of a game show in which the audience members are called up as contestants, mostly to compete for prizes while humiliating themselves for the enjoyment of all. Overall, it was a mixed bag, with some games pretty boring, while others were hilarious.

So the whole time, I'm sitting there thinking "I don't want to be called up there! I'm antisocial and afraid of the unknown!". Meanwhile, they are playing a game where 2 people are competing to make a holiday recipe for the crazy uncle. This recipe is one egg, 2 aspirin, a jar of cranberry sauce, 1 bag dry stuffing mix, and a beer. After it's all over, and the contestants have left the stage, the host holds up a $20 bill. I'm now saying to myself "he's gonna offer $20 to drink that shit. I should do that! It will prevent me from being chosen to make a fool of myself in some unknown way later if I do this now!". Before he even gets out the words, I jump up and yell "I'll do it!". They shine a light on me and he motions me to come on down and drink it.

So, as I'm walking down the aisle, some 300lb lineman (another audience member) is RUNNING to beat me to it. I take a shortcut and jump up on the stage (about 3 feet) from the front and grab the cup and chug it down, well 2/3 of it before I gag a lil bit. The big guy is now somehow sprawled out on the floor, and knocking the table down (that was holding the drink before I picked it up). One of the showgirls is now holding a bucket under my chin in case I throw up, but somehow I manage to get it all down.

Too funny, maybe I'm not getting old that quickly after all...
