Unfortunately, I missed the CD exchange on Saturday night. 
Sounds like a great time was had by all, and the mixes sound so fucking awesome.
Instead, I was at the Dresden Dolls concert at Metro (with a radio hooked into my ear so I could still listen to the White Sox
). After seeing them three times now, I have definitely decided that they are one of my favorite live acts. Besides the fact that they just don't sound like every other band out there, it's really refreshing to see serious musicians who don't take their "image" too seriously.
The Dolls came out on stage dressed as The White Stripes (Amanda as Jack, and Brian as Meg) and played two covers. It was hilarious, and musically they did an amazing job. After a bunch of favorites, they also played a cover of the late Jeff Buckley's / Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, which in my humble opinion is one of the most beautiful songs ever written (and that from an atheist). The only downside of the show was the Metro kicked us all out, while the band probably would have played a few more songs, but at least I got to see the 9th inning of the Sox victory.
Should be a euphoric week, despite a few business setbacks, my need for vacation, and a couple of lying, scheming ex-girlfriends who are trying to manipulate me (unfortunately for them I am too smart (or too stupid) to fall for it). On the agenda... Delilah's tonight, more film fest movies, best friend in town on Thursday night, and reveling in World Series glory!
