only a couple more days till Denver! so dope. I"ve found out that in addition to Flogging Molly playing while I'm out there, Rocket from the Crypt is playing the day I fly in! SO STOKED! I haven't seen them in 4-5 years, being a noreaster and all. skateboarding, snowboarding, rock and roll, art, fashion shows, and friends. this vacation is going to be the...

when are you coming to denver? we're having spring here, which might be a nice change for you. i remember what northcountry winters can be like - i grew up in canton, ny - home of st. lawrence university (they're both really small so if you don't know either it's ok).
of course co is kinda kooky in that you could come in june and still get hit w/ a snowstorm, but if you have friends here i'm sure you know that.
little tip - the vines are playing here april 2nd - i'm definitely going.

ps: i think the japanese one is better, but maybe i'm just a sucker for originals. smile

hey - so you're flying out this sat? unfortunately (well, fortunately, b/c if i don't get a vacation soon i'm goig to go postal - is that term still "hip"?)
anyways - this friday round a/b midnight we are hittin the road and headin west - we are vegas bound for a few days and i'm pretty excited b/c, as i implied moments before i really need the break.
so, it doesn't look like we'll be running into each other, which is a bummer b/c the snake pit is one of my favorite hang-outs. also 15th street tavern - some good punk gets played there, and herb's hideout. actually, my friend's punk band, the dropskots are playing there tomorrow for a st. paddy's day punk show. i love his band, b/c they're awesome, but also b/c my friend dan is a hot little monkey and likes to drum shirtless smile

yeah, canton is way up there. it was a nice place to grow up though. i miss the winters actually. here we get some shitty weather, but nothing so much that i would call "winter". i also miss the green and the fall colors. sigh. but i really dig the sunlight out here

anyway, have a safe trip and a rockin good time in the mile-hi city. it doesn't sound like we'll meet this time, but maybe next time around.

ps - the japanese one is creepier - after you've seen it i'll explain why, but i don't want to ruin it. but i saw it in a theatre, so that might have contributed. but i haven't been that scared since the exorcist. great flick
enjoy smile

Another fantastic Flogging Molly show last night. Those cats are one of the few bands that I can see over and over and still love them to death. I had perfect timing too, got in there abotu 10 minutes before they went on.

I remember when I used to go early to see all the bands. Every once in a while I still do, but...

I just have to say it's good see an older Suicide Girl showin' up. You are all beautiful, but It once again gives me hope that I'll meet some smashingly stunning woman my age.

Not that I'm hopeless . . . hahahha. But it warms my heart to see it!

it's still cold in the upstate. ugh.

But the bad weather returned and it's colder'n f* up here. whew.

Back to "work."

Go outside and enjoy life.

Today is the first full sick day I think I've taken in 2 years. Turns out I have a sinus infection. I love winter. I love my sinuses! they treat me so well.

But I got to sleep in during the week when I should be at work, and there's something magical about that. I think I need to do this more often, only hopefully...

Just got back from a mental field trip to Florida. it was a real trip, but one to regain my sanity.

I'm not sure if it worked, but it was a good time. Got to spend time with an old friend, catching up on life while chillin' at the beach.

Plus, this photo shoot just kinda popped up next to us. They were trying to...

oy, the winter doldrums are attackin' something fierce lately. I'm sure these "personal matters" aren't helping any with my state of mind.

that's why I impulsed and bought a ticket to florida for the end of the month. I need to escape my surroundings, get a fresh perspective on life again, if only for a weekend. lordy dordy.

I just saw About Schmidt. I highly recommend it, although I must caveat . . . it leaves you heavy hearted.

Watching parts of it were like watching my own father (who I love dearly), but who exhibits some of the traits I saw in the film after my own mother passed away. This got me thinking on my own tangent: I don't want to...

the circle is complete again.

not in a great way. not where I want to be.

How many cycles of this will I go through? Will we ever beat the cycle?

Very cool! I loved the Saul Bass designed posters, and there were other great ones like "Breakfast at Tiffany's" too. My old skateshop boss back in PA gave me this great one by all these skate designers. super fun!
