OH GUESS WHAAAT?
I'm a wee bit tipsy, laddies and lassies! Aye! 'Tis true!
And I just realised that I have a Netflix bonus on my dresser a-waitin' for me. "Lost in Translation". Haven't seen it yet, but you know I wanna. Maybe I should hold out on myself like a tease? Make myself want it more...? There's the hype and the acclaim and the creds and the fact that Bill Murray rocks my world.
Tonight I ate dinner at the Bagdad - and I'm too lazy to see if there's an H in there tonight (which is saying a lot because I'm OCD with spelling.) - and it was deeeeelicious.
I had spinach and artichoke dip with pita wedges (switched out for the offered kettle chips). Hmm, wouldn't that make any kid rush to the front of the lunch line?
I also had Citron and Soda - I usually drink gin. But something screamed wodka at me tonight. odd. I never drink vodka.
After dinner I was gazing at a storefront display of a thousand origami cranes because I'm writing a poem about a man who I'm comparing to self-made origami. He is complicating his life in such a way that he feels he can no longer appreciate anything about himself. I said "you are like origami - I will appreciate you". And so I write. The display caught my eye, and I caught the eye of a man who made me guess his age (76). His name is "Timmy" - but it's Tim, Timmy, Timma, "it's all the same". He moved to Portland from China 50 years ago. He told me he learned how to make origami cranes when he was a child. So we sat on a bench together, and he made me a crane from a concert poster for about 15 minutes. It was pretty cool. I took some pics I'll post later. He looks waaay younger than 76, and here is his secret:
