So it's been another week and work has been going fine. It's been pretty slow but that's given me time to learn how to do things around the office. Mostly I just drink enough coffee to stay awake and refresh Google Reader until someone calls in or submits an application so I can't really complain about my job at all. The only complaint is that I work with a bunch of middle aged men so I have to dress like them which means I dress like a 40 year old on his way to a golf game. I've never truly felt uncomfortable in clothes until now.
On a different note I've had a story brewing in my head, the first story in a long time. I don't know what I plan on doing with it, or even if I plan on doing anything at all. I can't remember the last time I wrote a story, I guess my last two pathetic attempts at churning out a novel turned me off to writing for a while (The last story I committed to paper was on 12/12/2007 - has it really been that long?). I don't even know if I'm capable of writing a decent story anymore, like maybe too much time has lapsed and I've lost my touch. We'll see, maybe I'll be able to give it a shot this time.
I do hate that all of my books are in storage. I've been itching to get to my Kerouac books, or delve into some Graham Greene or Amy Hempel. I miss my overflowing bookshelf and boxes full of books all readily available. I want to read Orringer and The Girl in the Flammable Skirt. I don't like having my books so far away.
Anyway, this week is going to be a busy one. It's the week of BBQ Fest and my family is doing our own cooking team this year (We're called the Four Irish Pigs) so between work and eating insane amounts of BBQ I probably won't have much time for anything else.
Until next time.

Only if you sing "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard...". Then, and only then, will it work
