I survived another week of work and another week of sobriety, go me!

I am having a bit of a mind crisis about my job. I really like working for a video game company, but there's a huge difference between making video games and working in a call center. I work in a call center, for call center wages, with all of the problems that come from working in a call center and there's just no benefit to it. For the longest time I kept myself going thinking it was my foot in the door but there are people in my department with degrees and far more experience and abilities than me and they're getting turned down left and right for higher positions in the company which makes me want to get out of customer service fast, with whatever dignity I've got left.

Also for the 2nd time in 3 months they're changing our shifts so first I gave up my weekends for the sake of "Customers First" but now I'm having to change my shift, and my lifestyle for the 2nd time, now most likely working a 6:45am-3:45am shift. Of course the pay and the job is the same, and they basically told us that we have to get used to changing out shifts, and of course lifestyles, every 3 months which is something I really don't want to do. For over a year I worked mon-fri with set hours that never changed, now my normal weekends are gone, our hours are going all over the place, I just don't see any benefit to any of it. It's customers first, business second, and employees third which is unfortunate but right now it's an employer's market with this economy so they can get away with it. If I don't like it they'll replace me with someone who does I guess.

Oh well, hopefully I'll be one of the few people who get to say that leaving their job was one of the best things that's ever happened to them, who knows?
