The past 2 months or so I've slacked off. I quit working out, my diet took a tumble, I started feasting on fast food, I found myself watching entirely too much pointless television (Endlessly watching the CNN Headline News 30 minute loop hoping something new pops up), not writing, just losing whatever steam was keeping me going.
So my frivolous days have come to an end. Today I got up, went for a 3 mile jog, later in the night I took a 7 mile bicycle ride with Jared, and topped things off with an hour of pilates. The only television I've watched in the past week is season finales. 24 was b-o-r-i-n-g and way too predictable. The Office was lame until the last 2 minutes. Jericho was great, and even though they got canceled the network promises 'closure.' The Black Donnellys was all sorts of amazing. Veronica Mars definitely takes the cake but leaves things on a huge question mark now that they got canceled. I skipped Lost so I could go on the bike ride so I'll find out tomorrow if it's worth my two hours.
I can't just sit around. I'm always antsy, always wanting to do something. I've been knocking back books lately like they're Long Island Iced Teas (Just to clarify, I love Long Islands). I just think I've let my life go to waste more than enough and it's not the kind of streak I'd like to keep alive.
So I'm back into working out. I've done pilates every day this week, and now I'm going to start running every other day. My diet is definitely back on and I hope I never see another bowl of ice cream again. Luckily fast food is not in my budget so thank God for small miracles. I organized all of my stories and notebooks so now writing is a much easier task. I've got a few more personal things to check off the list, but things are totally on the up-and-up.
But it is 3:30 in the morning and one of the things is a more acceptable sleep schedule, so I should go ahead and get on that.
