When it rains, it doesn't just rain, it fucking POURS!!!

Son of a bitch mofo gosh darn crap.

I went to go see my friend Autumn today and as we were leaving, I put my key in the ignition (as always, duh) and turned it. Instead of starting, there was a huge POP noise. When I looked up, there was smoke coming from under the hood of my car.

So, upon investigation, I find that the top has been blown off of my battery and has rained acid on certain parts of my engine... I freaked, of course, because that's what you do when your car battery explodes. I took the battery down to the shop to get a new one and guess what I found out? My alternator is overcharging the battery, thus causing unwanted explosions.

So, here's where I stand:

I spent $50 on a new car battery.
I need to get a new alternator. (which costs $75 for the part and I'm not sure if I can put it in myself or not, so I probably have to take it to a shop)
I cannot drive my car unless I want to risk buying another $50 battery.
I have to find rides to work, which is always fun. OR I spend $8.50 on a cab.
AND FINALLY
I am royally FUCKED because it will take me at least a week to get together the money to get this damned thing fixed. Isn't life grand?

On the bright side though, all of this should blow over in about a week and a half right?... RIGHT?

Somebody, please, give me some good news!
