I spent part of my night last night fixing a flat tire in the middle of a thunderstorm... Within ten minutes I was soaking wet, but I had the car jacked up and three lugnuts off before my friend came to pick me up. I stayed at her place till the rain stopped, then finished changing my tire.

It felt so wonderful and natural to be out in the rain. It was amazing. I mean, I know I could have been hit by lightning or caught a cold or something. I know all of that, but I felt kind of free, and amazed.

I stood in the middle of a storm, in all its glory and I was actually amazed for the first time in a very, very long time.

It felt wonderful...
