So the last couple of weeks have been a complete nightmare and a total relief all at the same time. This is all work related...and a bit of a bitch fest so I completely understand if you stop reading about now.
The long and short of it is my manager wouldn't push me through for promotion. She made a huge deal of the fact that "I went around her to get promoted and wasn't fit enough to even be considered". (Because I'm a complete mastermind and idiot all at the same time. :whatever
Anyway, my direct bosses had a chat with our DM because of what happen as well as the fact that "Manager" was creating a terrible work enviroment for everyone. She proceeded to give "Manager" a slap on the wrist and she was super sweet to everyone for all of 2 days... No shock there.
About a week later, I get pulled into HR. They tell me that I've been pushed through to take the test and that I could do it the next day. I was beyond excited. So I went to my direct supervisors and thanked them for the rave reviews and I went to "Manager" to thank her as well. She told me she didn't know what took so long, that SHE pushed me through the week before, and the test should of happened earlier on that week. SHE LIED! "Manager" didn't sign off on me at all. Her boss did. The DM I though hated me so much, pushed me through. Go figure. I will never say a bad thing about her again.
Needless to say, I passed the test and the background check! I am offically a part time ramp supervisor for UPS. I'm still excited, even though I've been in training for 6 hours a day the past two days. The crew I'm getting are a great bunch of people from what I can tell. They all knew who I was before I even met them... ok that sounds bad, but one of my good friends used to run that crew. He told me that he pointed me out one day.
I never thought I would be so happy being out of flight ops.
