This is my first blog homework task 😊 - 18/ 12 what charities do you give to?
Obviously Christmas 🎄 is the season of giving, and this year I've been thinking of more mindful gifts. Giving to charity as a gift, in someone else's name, to a cause that's really close to their heart is a really lovely way to support your community and it's more meaningful.
I love nature and animals 🐨🦘🦃🌱🍀🌿 so naturally I'm drawn to the protection of that. I learned about The Wilderness Society probably about 8 years ago. I was working in an office in Brisbane at the time and got stopped on the street. They told me all about their mission and of course I signed up. What I didn't realise is that they would take a lump sum of money, instead of little weekly payments which would have been much more affordable to me. So when I got my monthly pay, half of it was taken for The Wilderness Society 😂 At the time I was young, still living at home and didnt have alot of bills so I didn't particularly need the money, I'm glad it went to a good cause. I always give to them when I can afford it. I've also since learned that (in Aus) you can claim tax back on charity donations, so it's a win win 🥳
I always try to do little acts of kindness or charity in my day to day life, whether it's offering a hot meal to a homeless person or paying for an extra coffee, so that the next person to order a coffee gets it for free 🥰
