I saw Cloverfield on opening night and I loved it. I was planning on writing about how wonderful it was but I avoided it after reading like 19 million other blogs on how great it was. They all say the same thing for the most part. One thing I haven't read mentioned was the puny use of the cameraman's name, "Hud." Hud in the movie stands for Hudson. In the gaming world Hud is heads up display. When you're playing Half Life 2, which Cloverfield reminded me of in a good way, the health bar and ammo etc are all apart of your hud. It was one of those, "I see what you did there," things that I was really surprised that no one I've read mentioned. Also the shakey cam didn't make me sick. I thought it was just enough to make me disoriented and blair witch's shaky cam almost made me throw up. I sat in the third row filling my field of vision for both films.
