Wow, what a crazy week and a half. First off I'd just like to say despite Texas being the home GWB Jr. and his father, it is a very progressive and fun city. There is so much going on there than Orlando. The scene there is tight and closely knit with tons of great local bands and clubs. In-between all the heavy drinking (and during) I managed to:
Go to my first legit Goth club called The Church which is located in downtown Dallas. The place was huge and I have never scene so many beautiful woman in my life. There also happened to be a corset show on the night I attended which was a plus.
I went to Coyote Ugly which really sucked and then afterwards to a place called the Velvet Hookah which rocked. The band there consisted of two percussionists and this multi-instrumentalist dude with a MAC, sampler, keyboard, trumpets and guitars. I jammed out to one long, continuous acid jazz jam for about 3 hours. Unfortunately after we got out of the club there was only a pile of broken glass where our car was supposed to be and we had to take a cab home.
I went to Dealey Plaza where JFK was murdered. As soon as we got out of the car at the 6th Floor School Book Depository Museum parking lot there was this street guy with good intentions shoving Kennedy's autopsy photos in our face which I really didn't need to see that early in the morning. I bought some anyway though. I saw the window and place from which Oswald allegedly shot the President and other key areas like the grassy knoll, the rain gutter, the picket fence and the X marked in the street where the fatal head shot was made.
I ate at tons of awesome restaurants and if there one impression I took away from Texas, its that they are crazy about their food. You could eat out three meals a day for a month and never eat at the same place twice.
That is all I can recall at this moment. This entry is turning into a book. I have a ton of unpacking to do and a shit load of SGs to go look at so ta ta.
