Going out alone can be fun - and you actually meet more people that way.
The only complaint I have about going out alone is, I've noticed when I go to gay clubs alone - the only people that talk to me are the guys. Errr. Girls don't talk to me. Bleh.

i get sick of my own voice as well...i spent two weeks alone at a family cabin on a remote island in norway, and learned that the lack of conversation/communication is very powerful. it makes you go a little insane, but in a beautiful way.
