I just wanted to post that some members of this site are petty, and unfair. Some members of this site have no idea that this is just that, a site. Gersguy and I got kicked out of the SGDC group, and the reason is in fact one of many why I am leaving.
I got kicked out for informing the DC area members about Len Bias, my good friends, playing at
Fort Reno next Monday night. One member got offended by the bands name, Len Bias. So for expressing our own opinions, informing that it is just indeed a bands name, we got "punished" by it. The group leader informed that the topic is now closed and people will be kicked out if they do not talk nicely. We not once, ever said anything offensive, yet! After that, the group leader decided to post a rule, 1.) To basically keep a love vibe and be respectful. This pissed me off. All I ever did was post a topic about supporting local music. I was never disrespectful, and because of a member getting offended by the name, I'm getting treated like a 2nd grader? Whatever happened to one's own opinions? Posting info about bands? Now because you think you're high and mighty because you are the group leader of some internet site, you have the right to try and threaten to kick someone out of a group for that. Fuck that and fuck you. I responded not maturely with saying that rule #2. All members must wear black pleather pants to be in this group (the group leader wears these nasty black pleather pants in almost every picture and i'm sure they smell like rotted sour cheese) Of course with this comment, I got kicked out. Which I knew I would, but it was and is the main reason why I got kicked out that upset me. Poor Gersguy stuck up for me and said some comments as well and got kicked out, (love you for standing behind me).
So with this said, I wanted to add that people are people. We are all different. We have different minds, likes, dislikes, but we are people. Don't pull out your high and mighty card because you are a "Group Leader" on some interent site. Now I am not speaking for all members. I understand that this has some cool things on it, and i've met some really great people on here. It can be a great outlet. I am just upset by the manner in which some things are addressed. Treat people with respect and you shall get it in return.
