Hey everyone! (: Thought I’d share a little bit about myself here. I am a 23 year old Peruvian-American Suicide Girl hopeful currently living in Miami, FL. One of the best things about living in Miami is how alive the latin and hispanic culture is. There’s always something going on and the people are as lively as the energy this city brings at night. I grew up exploring most of Florida and made some of the best memories of my life. Then when I was 17, I moved away to Los Angeles and that’s where I spent three beautiful years experiencing new places, people, and opportunities. While I was living there, I came across Suicidegirls on instagram and remember thinking to myself “omg these girls are so fucking hot!” I loved the idea of tattooed babes with funky colored hair and piercings getting naked online and unapologetically being themselves. I thought it was badass. I pretty much decided right there that I wanted to become a Suicide Girl. So when I was 19, I applied and shot my first set ever, “Hollywood Swinging!” It was nerve wrecking at first because I knew I had to be completely nude and I wasn’t exactly feeling myself at the time. I struggled with weight gain / weight loss as a kid so I was never really comfortable with my body. Shooting my first SG set was a challenging but awesome experience. It gave me the confidence boost I needed and showed me to love my body and all its imperfections. I knew I wanted to be part of this community because it made me feel beautiful and like I was spreading a good message to not just alt chicks with tattoos, but to every girl out there. That the conventional kind of beauty and the standards society tells you to live by are wrong. We’re all beautiful in our own unconventional, strange, and unique way.
On another note, I recently got the chance to shoot with @sunshine in Fort Lauderdale. I met her at the @blackheartburlesque show in Miami Beach last year and she was just the sweetest!! I told her I’d love to shoot with her next time she was in Florida. We finally linked up a few weeks ago and made some magic! I think Sunnie captured the essence of my beauty perfectly. She is amazing at what she does and really helped me feel at ease. I absolutely loved working with her and I am so excited to share with you guys!!! Here are a couple of previews <3
