It is verified authentic although sadly because he is corroded it is unknown which Emperor he represents though he would be hundreds of years after Julius Caesar. The cool thing about these coins (besides the historical aspect) is that these are the one real historical artifact that you can own without breaking a bank. During the Roman Empire in this particular coin's time period 200 AD Rome minted literally millions upon millions of these. These are scattered around and are very common to find especially at Estate Sales. The only problem is finding one that isn't corroded from time. This little guy is so corroded it is impossible to determine anything other than that it is in fact authentic. Every time I look at him I just wonder who over history touched and held this coin. How many people long forgotten has this coin seen? What was purchased with him? Where did those people who handled him end up and how?
