So today I'm actually a pretty happy guy. So I've always been fat since I became a teenager. When I turned 13 I started eating a lot (mostly because of anxiety) and I got pretty fat. In fact by 18 I was 280 pounds pushing 300. Well about a month ago I made a decision to be the best me I could be and get in shape and lose weight. I wanted to be healthy and actually be able to run a block without losing my breath and hacking. I am proud to say in a month I've gone from 280 to 250 and am feeling great. I can actually run more than a block and still have energy. When I was fat I also couldn't do pushups at all in fact you could pay me a million dollars to do 2 pushups and I couldn't do them. I can now actually do pushups for the first time in my life. Before I could also only benchpress maybe 30 pounds and now I can do over 100 (not a lot but pretty good in a month). Anyhow I'm very happy and just needed to share this lol!

lol @chefbeth yeah I wasn't fat as a kid at all because when I was really young we used to have tons of other kids in the neighborhood. Well I would always run out and go play with nerf guns or something and I would be running and sweating for hours on end. Well then when I turned around 12 everyone moved out of the neighborhood and I just sat around on my ass doing nothing. I did nothing but "bored eat" and also "stress eat" because of some anxiety I have. Like I said in my post I went from probably 190 to pushing 300 pounds. I even had a nurse almost gasp when she saw the scale. For getting the motivation to the gym though sometimes it's the weirdest thing. I've had so many people call me fat, fat ass, etc all these names and it never phased me. What actually woke me up was watching Casino Royale one night and seeing that famous scene where Bond walks onto the beach and he's like ripped. It woke me up because Daniel Craig is twice my age, older now and he looks like that whilst I'm in my 20's and fat. That was sort of the hair that broke the camel's back on weight loss. I go to the gym 7 days a week and work out and I'm so happy I've lost a bunch. I'm still nowhere near to getting where I want but I'm closer!!!!

My dad is the same way @gargoyle23 he is (a lot older than you) 60 and he goes to the gym and builds muscle but doesn't really lose any weight. Over the past couple of months my father has built up a ton of muscle but hasn't lost any of his stomach fat. I think that's one of the reasons I'm motivated to lose it. Because I know at age 20 I can lose it faster and with more ease. Great Job On losing over a hundred pounds though man!!!!! Keep doing the weights though! What I've noticed with my body is I've lost the weight through dieting yes but me building muscle has taken over the fat. My arms used to be super blubbery and just fat and the muscle actually burned that away. Now my arms don't have fat they just have muscle.
