So yeah I know this is a really bitchy and pathetic post to make. I know it's really dweeby and unmanly and unsexy to be sort of bummed about this but I am. So our local theatre will not be allowing Lightsabers, Blasters, Masks (I understand that one), or any sort of simulated weapon of any kind even foam ones. To me this kind of sucks because it's Star Wars, now while the original films were released loooooong before I was born I know some people have been waiting 30 years for this film. It kind of sucks that a lot of people will not be allowed to bring a lightsaber into the theatre. Blasters I can understand but really people? Lightsabers? Even costumes with masks or paint aren't allowed (so no Kylo Ren lol). Costumes and robes are allowed but you can't bring anything in other than the costume so if you're dressed as a Jedi, your robes are all that's allowed into the theatre. I have decided to do the Force Awakens version of Han Solo (so basically a white t-shirt and leather jacket and slacks) since that's pretty much all you're allowed to bring in. Anyhow I just feel really sad that past events have caused such a surge in security and safety is a number one concern. It kind of hurts when a little kid isn't allowed to bring in a toy lightsaber to a movie because of the things evil people have done. Anyhow that's sort of my pathetic nerd post for the day. I'll be back on after the Force Awakens. :) I will post a spoiler free review of the film so don't worry about any spoilers after I see the movie.
