Nothing is ever easy. Fuck you, Zedd.

I slep great last night. One person knows why. I won't tonight.

So, when I started really thinking about who I'd want to be the next President of the United States, these questions popped into my head. There are more, but these are right off the top of my head:

So, I started thinking about these today:

If such an event came to rise that, in some kind of military showdown (war, national security, etc.), the best...

So, hopefully I'm going to go camping this weekend. I'm looking forward to it since I haven't been in a long time. I've been wanting to go for a while now, but waiting for the weather to cool off a bit. It looks like it will be okay for camping this weekend. Hopefully it will be an intimate trip, just me and one other person....

I hope the "someone" you keep mentioning is a lovely girl.

Just what do you consider cold in the winter there in Alabama. I was just looking at some photos from a snowshowing outing last winter on a nice warm saturday: 15* and a 40mph wind.

A couple of friends and I got together to do some shooting yesterday. It was a lot of fun. I shot my Mini-14 at 100 yards for the first time. I was able to get 14 of 20 shots on paper while the AR my friends were using only managed 4 shots on paper out of 90 fired! I suggested zeroing it, and we took...

I've been doing a lot of rifle shooting lately. I'm getting better at the 100 yard shooting, and hopefully I will continue to improve. I wish I could afford to do it every day, instead of just once a week. Anyway, today I decided to put myself through the paces with my 1911, only to discover I only had one fifty round box of .45s...

AC/DC's new single "Rock and Roll Train"

I'm looking forward to a new album from my favorite band. I hope it's a good one. This song would indicate that may be the case. biggrin

So I painted my bedroom. It looks a lot better now. I'm trying to make as many little changes around here as I can to make the place a little less white trash. Anyway, it's a nice improvement. Next will be the bathroom.

Good looking range, what are your plans for a backstop? Dirt? That works pretty good.

A friend of mine got ahold of some used power poles from the local utility, cut them in half, and Planted them. Instant 10' tall backstop.

I put some work into my 100 yard shooting range today. I took down portions of three fences that were in the way, cut down five (small) trees, and attempted to dig up some fence post but gave up in the face of the Alabama heat. I can just bend them out of the way anyway. Fucking heat.

I'll take some pictures when it's finished....

I am assuming that you will have to register for and take classes as an apprentice in your state. If your state has two different licenses (residential and commercial) like my state did, make sure you sign up for commercial. No matter what. Dont let anyone talk you out of it. The typical argument is...I will become a journeyman in half the time, and hence make journeyman wages. We'll, I'll tell ya, I am licensed in 5 states and typically make almost double what a residential journeyman makes (though I do earn more than most commercial/industrial electricians that I work side by side with as well). A residential electrician can only work on houses and appartments. A commercial/industrial electrician can work on everything: from houses to nuclear plants.

The state I live in now only has one license, so pay is comensurate with the type of work you do, and where your past experience lies. For states that have multiple licenses, if you were trained strictly as a residential electrician, you can not cross the boundary to commercial/industrial without starting your school over from scratch.
