There was a girl at the wedding reception (not my "date,") who moved like... poetry.
She was kinda short and thin, but her body wasn't starved. Lean and taut. She was wearing a tight red dress and she moved so beautifully... She danced like some sort of erotic goddess... Absolutely beautiful. In my life I have only seen 2 other women who could move like that, both were strippers/dancers, though I'm quite sure this girl wasn't. Such body control, such kinesthesic awareness... I'm still in awe just thinking about her. Pure poetry...
Just thinking about her now makes my mouth go dry...

Shimmer

I cast no stone
into the waters of her pool
it shimmers and moves
alive and filled with light
and I stand at the edge
looking in
somehow her beauty reflects me
I see myself more fully
in the illumination of her iridescent depths
and I feel closer to whole
and farther from her...

Petal

Sometimes you don't know what you need in your life
until you hear her speak of something she cares about
and in doing so, reminds you of an empty spot in your soul
that you never knew you had
and then somehow
when you look at her you no longer see a foreign body
just a piece of your own
torn away long ago before memory existed
between the white bones of your skull
and though you don't know her
maybe just met her
You already know her and she floats through your dreams
on luminous wings of aether
and you pray to whatever gods you have
for some reason to be near her
to get to know yourself better
in the light that she provides
and you struggle for something to say
hoping for something
that will put a smile on her lips
which she notices you stare at
when her words drift languidly from them
as rose petals may drift down in a gentle summer wind
and you're caught
my oh my, so caught
falling for her
like those rose petals fall from her lips
