Paradise Valley Community College holds a Student Art show every fall and spring semester of the year showing art students progress in the arts and their talent in the fine arts. 110 peices of artwork were submitted into the Spring Student art show and roughly 30 were chosen to be hung in the Performing Arts gallery. Among the 30 peices chosen my peice "Terror Storm" was chosen to hang in the show, along with Jesse, Derik, and Ashely's artwork making a great name for Enlightened Art. The show was juried by ASU Art Museum's curator, John Spiak and Scottsdale Contemporary Art Museum's Cassandra Bradley, the artwork was chosen according to the theme "Art beyond the classroom". Many people viewed my work and I belived it imformed a few people of the conspiracy theories set out in our country today.

The Student Art show was put togeather by Adria Pecora's gallery operations class which consistes of 6 people including Jesse and I. We leared a great deal about operating galleries, we talked to alot of important people, and went behind the scenes of some of the most popular galleries in Phoenix, and Scottsdale. Our class was responsble for hanging all of the selected peices of art in the PAC gallery and making sure everything was perfect. Jesse and I gave some last minute touches and lighting to the show a few days before the opening. The reception went smoothly and art onlookers were more than satisfied with the set up. Hopefully there will be more shows to set up and show in the future.

Just a word of advice from someone who doesn't really know much about art but pretends to anyway: you ought to give a good think about the context in which you present your work. In the dirt in a tent?

Money? You don't need money to show in galleries. When I was in college, I just got into the habit of sending applications to as many galleries as I could. If you want some advice on how to get into galleries, I could give you some pointers. And please, don't show in places that require a fee. Those are called vanity galleries and are abominations.
