The tattoo on my chest is the veve for Ezili La Flambo, Haitian Goddess of Love and patron saint of single mothers.
The book is just about death processes in this country from many angles; what we do to bodies and how sick I think it is, how media plays into glamorization of murder or the death of a celebrity, etc. My own experiences with death, and how there isn't much positive emphasis put on death by the masses, except that maybe you get to finally be 'with the lord'.
I'm feeling really reclusive. The last two weeks have really sucked, I think things are turning around, but still part of me just wants to stay home Friday night with the blinds drawn and the lights out. Ah, well. Movie Madness just pulled a copy of 'the Search for the Night Stalker' out of storage for me. That will be good in the dark, alone
I miss my best friend Nick.
I wish I could hop on a plane and go run away with him for about 3 days. We are the only ones who know how funny we are.
Nettles, burrs, and stinging things have attached themselves to my heart. I hope someone pulls them off soon.

I don't know that I would say I practice Vodou...I think it is the most pure religion and there are aspects of it that I incorporate into what I consider to be my religion. But I don't read much on it, I just go with the energy I get off of certain aspects. If I were going to subscribe to any organized religion fully, this would be it. I'm about to get the veve for the other Ezili tattoed over my heart shaped implant on my forearm
