TV makes me feel icky. I feel uncomfortable when I am in someone's house and the TV is on. (unless it's Seinfeld) I have only watched about 3 hours of TV in the last four years. I don't understand subjecting one's self to dumb ass shows and all the goddam advertising. Especially the advertising. When I hear a commercial, any commercial, it resonates like fingernails on a chalk board. It makes me want to crawl out of my skin. It makes me nauseated. When people at work tell me how their 4 year old is addicted to wrestling on TV I want to vomit. It's like child abuse. It's neglect. It's like vomiting on your kid. Beverly Hills 90210, Dallas, Melrose Place, Friends. Reality TV, The things people do for money. The other day I was at my friend's and her roomate had on some show where people were eating cuagulated blood balls for money. TV glorifies the most fucked up people for the most fucked up reasons. And so many people suck it up.
I could have been living in a mansion in LA right now not working, and got paid $10,000 or so after my six months were up on the silly TV. I said no fucking way.

i agree. i haven't had a functional tv for a year and i didn't miss it one bit. now we've got free cable and out of morbid curiosity i have turned it on a few times. it's more force-fed advertising than it is actual programming. and the part that is the show is the most innane bullshit... who are the people giving these shows ratings? does someone actually like this crap? are they all fucking stupid?!
