Friday night I went to an SF Giants game with my dad. The Giants beat the Phillies 5 to 3. It was nice and cool in SF.
We also stopped by Border's and my dad got me two new books! (.The Bell Jar and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) Saturday morning I got up early with my family and we loaded up a U-Haul with the furniture I was taking for my house in SC. The trailor wasn't ready when we got there to pick it up so we got a late start on the day. It was really hot loading stuff in the trailor under the blazing Modesto sun. We hit a bit of traffic on the way to SC (beach goers I assume). I was pretty excited to get to the house and unload all of my stuff. I didn't get to spend as much time there as I would have liked because we had to meet up with some family for dinner.
On the way home we saw a car pulled to the side of the road completely engulfed in flame! I hope everyone got out of the car safely.
I spent the early half of today shopping with my mom. We get coffee and go shopping every sunday (every sunday we are both home) since my fiance left for the army. Anyway, I ended up buying some new stuff for my house. It makes me finally feel like a grown up having a house to put stuff in
Maybe I'm silly, but it makes me happy. I got a lamp, a coffee maker, and a set of dishes. All very practical purchases I'd say and I even managed to talk myself out of a pair of shoes! Speaking of shoes . . .I sort of want these in black . . .
In crappier news, I talked to Jean-Marc today and he thinks it could be another week or so before he'll get leave! A WEEK OR SO!!! This whole mess is driving me crazy!! I keep wondering if he is ever coming home! I am trying so hard to just keep it together and be positive, but it's hard to keep it going like this. One min I am excited because he'll be coming home then I get knocked back down again. I want to try to be in a good mood for him because I can only imagine how shitty it must be to be him waiting for leave in Iraq. I just hope he gets here soon!!
I think my sister and I will spend next weekend in SC at the house. I want to keep myself busy so I don't go crackers thinking about the JM thing. Plus, there is a lot to be done in SC.
Oh! The Queen poster hangs proudly over the fireplace!! Mwa haha! Lauren and I put it up and now that it's up I doubt my housemates will put up enough of a stink to have it taken down.
I think I will go read now. I finished As I Lay Dying and have now started The Bell Jar. I've never read anything by Plath I sort of thought I should.
