This was a bizarre weekend.
Friday: Went out an celebrated with Trevor and people because Trevor won a scholarship for school to pay for some of his tuition. We went first to the Temple Club to see a benefit concert our friends were playing at. Incidently, temple club has really weird vibes in it. I didn't like it. We left quickly, went to Stober's instead, where we hooked up with a friend of mine from Chatte Rouge, Jeni...last time I drank with Jeni I ended up kissing her... heh.... nice sidenote eh?
Well, we hung out, played lots of good juke box music, got pretty loose, then Jeni and her friend Sarah had to leave, so Trevor, Aaron and I went to Beaner's to finish up the evening and bullshit all night. Was a good celebration.
Saturday: Dorothy called me early to go see a movie, but I had to do the street art market in old town. No problem, went and set up in front of her apartment.
I sold a few pieces, mostly prints, inexpensive stuff, but enough to go out later in the evening with Dorothy.
So, we went to see a movie, The fantastic Four.... ugh.... it was horrible!!! It does not even warrant one of my famous critiques (sorry Kiyone, I know how much you like them.) The only reason I stayed watching it was so I could continue to look at Jessica Alba, who reminds me of a girl I used to have pretty intense feelings for some times ago (It's the eyes and lips)... She's a horrible actress, but she kept my attention on babe quality alone.
Then Dorothy and I decided to go play pool, our new favourite past time. We were trying to find a place to go where we would not run into Aaron, her ex-boyfriend, and in this small town that is pretty damn hard... so long story short we ended up at 505 (the lesbian club yay!!) because we knew he would not go there.
I didn't drink, I let her do that, but we talked, I made eye contacts and occasional flirtings with random beauties, Dorothy and I played pool (badly) and she complained about her ex and told me again and again how not gay she was... hehhehehe.... Dorothy drunk is very amusing, she gets going like crazy, and I thought her Parisian ways were blunt before... Christ! After that she and I wnet for coffee at Beaner's and I took her home. Much fun.
Sunday: Was another ramble with Dorothy. She had promised the night before to call me instead of calling Aaron if she ever gets too lonely, and she did just that. Asked me out for coffee. I walked down to Gone wired and met her there, then we went over to this middle eastern bakery for kabob and falafel sandwhiches. She told me there a friend of ours (Andrea from Chatte Rouge) was having an exhibition and needed us to come out to have a drink with her afterwards because this creepy male patron had shown up with flowers and bought a painting of hers and asked her if he could later take her out for a drink, and she couldn't do anything but agree but later felt weird about it. So, we head over to the gallery, pick her up, and head across the street to Rendevous, where the creepy guy eventually comes. He was ok, I do not recall his name just now, we all played pool and what not. Andrea explained to him she had a boyfriend and a child, and that went ok. Solidarity, it works. I think he felt odd having all the women folk around.
Later that evening I got called out by this woman, Jennifer, who I went out with once. I only want to be friends with her, and I had told her that, but I think she is ignoring that. She asked me out for coffee. We agreed to meet at gone wired (Second time in a day, oh yeah!) where I had every intention of just hanging out and whatever. Well, I went over there with Trevor, who was going to get a drink at the Green door next door, but she never showed up! This is the second time she did this! So, I was incredibly disgusted and I went with trevor to have a drink, play a couple games of pool, and chill out. (Today she called me asking where I was. The coffee shop was closed when I got there, so there was a bit of confusion. She apparently broke her foot and they let her hang out inside, but I never saw her car, so I don't know if she is lying to me or what?? Oh well.)
That was my fun weekend, how was yours?
And now, I have to go aply for a job at the book store... wish me luck, I don't have a degree in English lit, so I may be fucked. None the less, wish me luck.
And... another shameless plug for my show. Eat it bitches... hehhehehe....
first things first...
"We Just Eat Dog Food"
Exhibition at Traffic Jam and Snug. This Exhibition will feature the work of myself and also of Lansing artist Aaron Curtner, one of my closest friends. Works will include 30 original watercolours, collages, acrylics, and drawings and will be up from July 13th through the month of August. All works will be for sale, and there will be many affordable choices from the both of us. I am putting in original drawings that I cannot imagine I will price high, so everyone come down to check it out.
Second: I have new art for sale in my "Art for Sale" Folder... yay.
