So this was sent to me the other day by a friend and was mildly entertaining...apparently I am a lion...go figure...
Movies abound, watched too many movies this weekend. Just saw "Constantine" last night... hmmm... a few impressions of that film are in order.
1. Keanu Reeves is simply the worst actor...ever...ever ever... he cannot carry a scene, and overacted to such a degree that it was hard to be able to take him seriously.. I half expected him to break out into random "whoas" while performing the material.
2. New tagline for the film should be "whole lotta latin going on". There was so much latin dialogue I felt inundated, like I was sitting back in a pew as a child... and that was just creepy.
3. Rachel Weisz has beautiful eyebrows, but should not be in big budget hollywood films, I so much preferred her in independent period flicks and dramas then in this. Even as a twin, she did not captivate.
4. On the other hand... there was a woman in the film who entirely made the event enjoyable for me... and was perhaps the only reason to see it. Tilda Swinton... drool... as Gabriel (As in Archangel Gabriel) made a few brief appearances in the movie. I must say, every since seeing "Orlando" after I read it, she has been a favourite of mine.. and man, seeing her garbed in a pinstripe suit, and then the coolest lace up white pants ever was just eye blistering... And might I just say that I would have loved to have been on the ground underneath her lovely foot... the foot to the throat was just a beatiful perspective to look up at that gorgeous creature... drool... worth the money just to see that.
Other than that, there really isn't alot to say about that film. Eh, if you want to see lots of footage of Keanu walking in front of a green screen, be my guest. Tilda with wings was the only reason I enjoyed it, but it wasn't enough of a reason to convince my gent, who giggled with unfettered glee like a school boy throughout the whole film. He was a hairbreadth out the door from about the word go, but he knows I won't ever walk out on a film, no matter how awful it be.
Hung out with people today. My friend was telling me how much she wants to see "The L Word"... and now my gent thinks she was coming on to me. Ha. He was just trying to convince me to seduce her, now he has further fuel. Meh, bad idea. Would be fun...but a bad idea. Even if she will be leaving the country in a few months.
And now my throat is raw and closing up. Hanging out with 3 smokers is bad for me. Random fact about me... I'm allergic to cigarette smoke. Yep. I get around too much of it, my throat swells up. And my lungs cry out in pain. Well, between chinese food, coffee shop, and their home, all of which every one smoked in, I now am in bad shape. Oh well, it's only my respiratory system, no biggie.
1. Did you take that quiz? What was your result?
2. What was the last film you watched, in theatre or at home?
3. Any allergies?
