It's so disappointing that what had started out as an unbelievably good summer, weather-wise, especially for England, has gone entirely downhill... especially since weather conditions seem to affect my mood - it's hard to be enthusiastic about being outside when the rain is pouring down, or even falling down gently, and so I withdraw, staying shut up indoors, away from life itself... on Saturday, it was pleasant enough to be playing football at five in the morning, and then beautiful when we came to play in the afternoon, followed by sitting in the beer garden of a nearby pub. Now it's all gone wrong...
It's not actually raining at the moment, but it hardly looks inviting outside (it's a 'neither here nor there' kind of weather), so I find myself sat in front of my computer, weary, having just woke up, wondering what to do with my day... what would traditionally be band practise probably won't be, due to one member being away in Lancaster (as always - university), and one away in Las Vegas (some difference!). On a positive note, my Silver Jews ticket arrived this morning, and yesterday, I picked up a couple of comicbook trades I'm looking forward to reading (Stupid Comics Collection and Amazing Joy Buzzards Volume 2). So that's probably what I'll do with my day.
Oh, and Thanksgiving play Manchester on Monday - something else to be grateful for, since gig-wise, things have been dead for a few weeks now.
