Alright, update time:
I had a recording session with another choir on Wednesday. Hooray for my first paying gig!!!
The session was for a demo the choir director wanted as a reference so she could give feedback to the members about their performances.
It's a damn good thing it was only for a demo because the space where we were recording was CRAMPED! A tiny stage, a choir, a nine-foot grand (reallly fucking loud) piano and and my microphones in position. If we had more room I would've brough my stereo mic further away from the choir to get a fuller sound.
On the plus side, I'm delighted with the quality of all the microphones I bought for this.
The actual recording session to make the full length CD in its final form is on May 12. The finished master of the whole thing is due on the 31st. So in between that time I'll be busy busy busy mixing.
In the meantime, I'm hoping to have the next true story from my "love life" all finished and typed up for your reading pleasure complete with melodramatic song quotes. It's almost done!
