"Swaying to the rhythm of the new world order and counting bodies like sheep to the rythm of the war drums...." - A Perfect Circle

The following was frantically typed up after having a nightmare when taking a short nap and then edited a bit for clarity, and here is the result::

The whole dream unfolded before me like a movie: I wasn't involved, yet I was there to witness. The setting was a futuristic America under totalitarian rule: a total police state. My dream followed a young woman with short dark hair and a red dress with long sleeves. For this story, I shall call her Ann. She walked through the streets of a metalllic grey and blue city heavily patroled by countless soldiers in immaculate uniforms with helmets that completely obscured their faces. The sodiers were highly trained and were armed to the teeth with hi-tech weapons.

Ann is a member of an underground band of rebels, bent on overthrowing the current regime. For some reason while taking her laundry out to the Laundromat, she is brought before a middle aged woman who is of high rank in the military government. I think she is being recruited or something.

Anyway, Ann pays close attention to the high ranking official as she tells her about the plans to build a gigantic ship that can go by land, sea, and air. It's meant to be part exploration/battleship and part residence ship for civilians. The amount of guards and heavy artillery are staggering. Ann is also being shown a brochure/blueprint of some sort of this new gigantic ship. In the ship there is a gigantic town square of some sort with many people coming and going.

In the middle of it was a large aquarium tank. Along with many fish there was also a gigantic shark about 24 feet long. A cold chill coursed through both Ann and myself as she choked and gagged asking whats the shark for?, instinctively thinking that the tank and the shark will be used for public executions to set an example to the masses about what happens to political dissidents and everyone else who do not conform.

The official woman says that it is just there for decoration and nothing more. Ann knows far better that it will serve two purposes: public aquarium and public gallows. People will be walking in the "town square" and every now and then see someone dropped into an enormous shark tank and reduced to a red cloud of blood.

After being showed many plans the woman is finally set free and is on her way home, being followed by a government agent as she heads toward the rebel hide out to brief her supriors on he new found information.....

schoolgirl:
I could imagine all of your dreams are like this. I have no idea why it reminds me of it, but a book comes to mind that is not much like your dream at all. We the Living, ayn rand. yes, I know how annoying it sounds to hear supposed pretenitious people talking about ayn rand like they know her (you no me?) but anyway. did you feel like you helped her? so you were not some sort of character in this dream but you an observer? don't you love that rush of emotion in your heart as soon wake up? i love when you have dreams this vivid and you wake up and realize it. but if you fall back asleep in the same position, you could continue where you left off like pressing pause in your movie. why do dreams this cool have to happen when you are just about to wake up and you wanna know more and not all night to give closure to a story? I have a complaint for the dream fairy. lol. take care doll. dream away.
