Been a while SG'ers so I thought an update would be in order.
Life is busy busy busy...work has exploded and whilst it's great to be putting some pennies in the piggybank, I am in need of a rest...still I will get some summer time to myself and mrs kpan, all being well, though it looks like a short window as the work just keeps flooding in...I am taking what comes right now as the education and creative arts cuts will bite harder soon and my plate could soon be very empty.....make hay and all that.
I did manage to sneak away for a week to visit the gorgeous island of Tiree in the southern hebrides and i will hit you with a photo journal some way down the page.It will say with pictures what I cannot with words.
My eldest daughter oversaw a successful first run of her directorial debut at the Finborough Fringe Theatre in London and has been offered a longer stint next year for the same or a new production. The play was very funny and well recieved. She has made a very positive first step into the world of theatre directing.
Daughter number two has graduated from Glasgow school of Art with a first class hons degree and a prize for best piece in show worth 1000. Her final piece was a guided walk through the Rennie Mackintosh Gallery using a headphone set with her voice directing proceedings...she led listeners into all kinds of 'situations' and encouraged them to consider many a deep thing...it was amazing. She will be exhibiting a similar piece as part of the Royal Scottish Acadamey exhibition in Edinburgh sometime later in the year.
The boy has exhibited his final photographic show and was awarded a triple distinction for his efforts...the highest mark available.
My kids are fucking awesome. Here they are with their equally amazing mum.
