Well as luck would have it the gods of work and weather decided to offer me a day with nowt to do but walk and shoot...so that's what I did...from my front door I climbed upward and wandered..... here's a selection what I saw.
The first 4 shots are looking back down on the town where I live
Further up the hill lies the village of Heptonstall...here parked in a layby was a boat!
Then on into the village itself...old cobbled streets, a churchyard and beautiful cottages.
Onto the moors for some views of what folk in these parts call 'God's Country'
Back to the village and the old church ruins and a little jiggery-pokery to create a mirrored version of the shot I took...somehow it creates what I saw in my minds eye.

Thanks! Things turned out better than expected with the volunteering. I can finally sleep normally again. Well. except after Villa plays. I honestly like every thing that Houllier is doing...except some of his game day selections. I truly don't understand it sometimes. I missed the game due to coaching and afterwards a friend put it this way when I asked if i should bother to watch, "He pulled a Moscow on us." referring to MON's capitulation a couple of years ago. Not that it wasn't always going to be an uphill climb against City, especially with our makeshift back four. But really, I don't get what he was thinking. And after all that the squad follows it up with a loss to Wanderers! Dismal.
