So I am well pleased with myself...I have managed to get some free shareware video software from the good people at ulead and have successfully uploaded my first video to you tube......and here it is........
Presenting Kajamor Family Part 1
Edit:Thanks to Sockpuppet for the question which prompts me to give a little background info.This first video is a rhythm called Casa. It is a traditional Diola rhythm (pronounced jolla) and the song harks back to the reign of Queen Aline Sito Diatta who opposed French rule and was subsequently attacked and arrested and sent into exile in Timbuktu where she died. The song remembers a time and place of success and says that if we here and now come together we can make it so again.
Kajamor Family Part 2.
This is a Bougarabou rhythm showcasing the drummer at the rear (Lamine Bodian)
In the song the words are basically along the lines of now the hard times are over,referring to the
Conflict in Casamance, we can make our music once more.
Kajamor Family Part 3
This rhythm is Djambadon and is played at circumcison ceromonies for young men.
In the song the group are first singing that if we go to Touba we will recieve many blessings...they then go on to sing that if we go to, for example Manchester, we might find rewarding work becuase there are artists there whom we know.

Hehe it's going ok. I find it hard not to be distracted by my dogs, and the fact that I can just get up and get something to eat or whatever. Also, having SG here sucks too.... I'll go online to the photo group to see if I can find the answer to a question, and then I'll end up staying there for an hour. Guh. Discipline!! It's hard!
