Some thoughts before the New Year crashes down on me.
1. Every year I say I am going to try and read 10 books by Nobel Prize Winners, it never happens, but this year I got five done. Which is more than last year and the year before that. So I will renew that resolution.
2. I have a big boat race that I want to compete in, and a climb up Mt. Rainier this summer that means I have to lose weight and gain fitness. I am currently somewhere in the vicinity of 300 lbs. but I am 6'4" so people tell me I wear it well. My goal is to get down under 250, but in a perfect world I would like to get to 235. That is effectively 11 pounds a month that I have to lose. If I overall my eating lifestyle and commit to running a 5K every three days and a 10K once a week, plus circuit training at the gym, I am pretty confident I can do it. I have been working out with these guys, Crossfit Providence, since August and already lost a boat load of weight. We will see how it goes. Maybe I will start a blog like the Mr. Low Body Fat guy. Or maybe not.
3. I have my application in to a trade school in Maine. Fingers crossed, touch wood, salt over the shoulder and all that because I am done working shitty unrewarding desk jobs. I am praying that this goes through okay and that I can find a way to make it work.
4. I have to spend more time with my nieces and nephews. Being in Maine (see number 3) will make that a lot easier, but if I don't get in, then I have to be willing to get up there on my own.
I think that about does it for me right now.
