I finished Love in the Time of Cholera last night for the second time and all I can really say is, "KAPOW!" That is what a novel is all about. It might be the best treatise on love I have ever read and I can't wait to read it again.
I am now really starting to crank into {i]100 Years of Solitude, also by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, for a lit club group Summer Reading Club. I started it about a week ago and got about 25 pages finsished in an hour, which for me is really fast. I picked it up again last night and read another 25 pages in an hour. I have to force it from my hands when I go outside. My goal for tomorrow is to read all day and break only for lunch.
My new tattoo is in the sloughing of skin face which is equal parts fascinating and disgusting to me. But it is holing up well I would say.
I have been listening to a lot of South American rock and pop lately too; namely Aterciopelados, who I am in love with, Andrea Echeverri (front-woman for Aterciopelados), Babasonicos from Argentina, and Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. I can speak just enough spanish to get me a glass of milk, a check and out of a speeding ticket in Juarez. I know how to get directions to the bathroom and there was a day when I could ask for sex--but that little nugget went unused. But I just love this music. Can't stop listening to it.
