when i say bowl, i have to contort my face all weird and make it a two syllable word instead of one. i guess that is what makes me fun. hee hee
oh, and the book....it's at a standstill right now. i'd love to say i am finished, but i haven't picked it up since the last time i mentioned it.
i'm going to try and revive it this weekend while i am at the races. i'll have plenty of time in between races.
while i was avoiding that book i did manage to read a different one. which would be classified as "chick lit" and will probably be of no interest to you. it was about a girl whose family is in the mafia. but after i read the first page i couldn't put it down. was pretty good. now i've been obsessed with watching a bunch of mafia films.
i go through stages like this from time to time. read a book and then become obsessed over a certain subject. just another fun quirk about myself.

as for vacation. i've got several places in mind (all in the US--and i did look at Montreal and Vancouver but figured it was a little too pricey right now for us). but the thing i need to be careful is to not go too crazy about this trip, so we can still save money for our UK trip. of course my husband shocked the heck out me, because he asked if we stayed home this year instead of going someplace, and then went to the UK in 2 years. i'd like to think i could wait 2 years to go on a trip anywhere. but in all honesty, i would not be able to. i don't turn into a pumpkin or anything crazy like that. or at least i don't think i do... 
but my parents have kind of spoiled me by taking me and/or allowing me to go on a trip each year when i was growing up. and letting me use the family's timeshare even through college, now, and in the future to go places. plus, i like that planning a vacation gives you something to look forward to. kind of like a mini goal you know? 
i'm trying to go to a place that i have never been before. but most of those places are along the pacific coast and more $$$. decisions decisions. maybe i should grab a map. close my eyes. point. and say, this is where we are going. now, how do we get there? or i could just plan something and not tell my husband until the time gets closer. kind of surprise him. that would be fun too. now i got myself thinking!!!

That is what a novel is all about. It might be the best treatise on love I have ever read and I can't wait to read it again.

June 3rd was a day well spent. I drove in a rented Pontiac Vibe from Providence, RI to Portland, ME to get started on a tattoo. It seems crazy to drive that far but it was worth it.
