I will keep my fingers crossed, but a wise man pointed out to me that we will occasionally meet someone we can love, but only a few of those will be suitable partners. As you get to know this guy, the possibilities will come into focus. As much as I love romance, having close friends isn't a bad consolation prize, so the process of exploration can be seen as having many chances for a good outcome of some kind.
As for creepy dude, tell him friendship is on the table and nothing else; take it or leave it, with the proviso that there will be no more gestures, grand or small. If that doesn't work, put a muzzle on him and take him to the animal shelter.
You can let me know if the infant continues to be a problem and I'll come up with some briliant suggestion for her.
