I finally finished cleaning out the guest room/ my think tank. I put our old bed in it and decorated it very randomly. biggrin We'll use it as a guest room but primarily I'll use it as a think room where I can do arts, crafts, writing (poetry, stories music), and a studio. I was thinking about putting up backgrounds on one side of the room. The kind that retract to the ceiling. I'm really itching to shoot some more pictures. I'm tired of taking pictures of my cats and nature. I like to take pictures of people.

Here's the part where I start to ramble about cameras. It's optional. biggrin

I've been taking portraiture shots since I was eight years old. My mom got me this cheap knock-off brand SLR from Fingerhut. I was so excited. I was taking so many pictures. Unfortunately my mom would hardly ever get my film developed. It sucked frown .
When I was old enough to have a job and money, I usually spent it on film for a decent 35mm Kodak point and shoot. It had decent optics but I can't remember who. I also would rent a video camera from the RTO where my mom worked at. I was technically too young to rent. My friends and I would make little movies (that sounds dirty). It was great. smile
When I was 17, I got a job at a Ritz owned camera shop called John's Photo. It's no longer open because of Wolf mad.
The Manager would allow me to borrow equipment. It was so cool. I loved it. During that time I also found a Pentax K1000 at a flea market. I bought it for $2.50, rock!! surreal I had to repair the shutter. My boss at the camera shop showed me how. Even though it was a Ritz Camera, it still had the influence from the original owner. All of the equipment of a decent pro shop was there. We did copy work, TRUE B&W film processing, and some other cool shit.
When I was 19 I got the chance to use a TLR several times. I had so much trouble loading the film at first. It was kinda funny. That film ain't cheap and I blew like 3 rolls. The owner of the camera (whom also owned the film) was starting to get a little pissed. It wasn't my fault that he decided I should use it after I had smoked.
With access to all this decent equipment, I joined the Hunstville Photographic Society (::note to self, see if it's still around:smile. I learned a lot from those folks. Shit, someone even taught me how to make some ridiculously cool pin-hole cameras. I was the only one there under 62...haha.
