There isn't much to tell about SXSW from my perspective, sadly. I flew out of Austin Thursday morning at the end of a week long trip. I'm not in the music business and was just visiting the girlfriend (who I am thrilled about, incidentally).
I do have some hearsay and celebrity gossip. The GF works for the festival every year and has been spending most of her time at the Film Mentors event, connecting aspiring filmmakers with industry pros for ten minute meetings. I'm going to try to be there next year, but purely as a spectator.

I came to the Netherlands to do Application and Human Interface Design for an Interactive Television project with Microsoft and UPC (the cable company in Amsterdam)...
Three years later I found myself alone and bitter in a three quaters of a million dollar house - and dot com boom - unemployed 6,000 miles away from "home".
So I have been doing a lot of soul searching and voulenteer work with kids and computers - which - the truth be told, is much more fun, and makes me feel better than the abusive entertainment work ever did.
The pay is better, though - so I am going back to the real world soon...
