rocking round the christmas tree
at the christmas party hop
mistletoe hung where you can see
every couple tries to stop
rockin around the christmas tree
let the christmas spirit ring
later we'll have some pumpkin pie and we'll do some caroling
i don't care if it's not even thanksgiving yet but i love my christmas songs and i have already started to listen to my santa's greatest hits cd. i was overjoyed this weekend that abc has already started airing holiday programming. on sunday they showed charlie brown's thanksgiving and winnie the pooh christmas (i think it was christmas...i didn't finish watching it).
holiday specials like that remind me of when i was a wee little kid, back in the eighties and early nineties christmas wasn't yet the source of all synical, overworked persons' hatred towards the holidays. i remember watching tv and everyone was happy and there were heartwarming christmas commercials about being with loved ones for the holidays.
they don't do that much anymore. i don't know if it's because i am oler now so i see more of the crass sentiments of people who hate christmas (whereas when i was younger i didn't really get it, or they wouldn't talk like that in front of me cause i was little).
i'm thinking of having a christmas movie marathon with a bunch of people and gathering under warm blankets in front of the tv, with hot cocoa or egg nog or whatever, watching old christmas favorites like white christmas, miracle on 34th street (the old one), a christmas story with some new funnies like jingle all the way, the santa clause, home alone although home alone could be conisdered as a old movie
