I am truly useless at updating this. I feel I have things to share with the world, but nothing that is particularly life changing. Or interesting for that matter. *shrug* But still, I shall do my best to update this little box on a regular basis (I'm not commiting to any particular time frame here - just 'regularly' will suffice for now).

Rules for 2011:

1. Be more positive.

Now, I'm not a grump, in fact I'm the complete opposite. Im always there with a bad joke or a witty comment to put a smile on someones fact. I like smiling and being fun. But my outlook on things is generally very pessimistic. Is the glass half full or half empty? Who knows?! Even if is only half filled with liquid, the top part of the glass is occupied by oxygen, so surely it's always full....even if you can't see it. Was the glass full or empty to begin with? Is there even a glass?! ........but I digress.
I'm going to try to point out at least 5 good things during the day that really made me smile. I may even right them down so even when I'm stressed and trying to do a billion things, I can think about the joke the crazy lady told me on the bus this morning and it'll cheer me up.

2. Find a nice man.

If it's true that you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince, then I think I'm about due. Not so much for a prince, but merely a nice man that will understand me and will love me (and my shoes) without question. Someone who will understand that even though I am lactose intolerant, I will occasionally eat a slice of cheesecake. Yes, I know I'll regret it but it tastes so darn good, I don't mind the vomiting part. I just ask that you pretend I'm ill and stop saying "it's self inflicted, you'll get no sympathy from me". Someone that doesn't automatically say "Another pair of shoes?!" when I return from town! Yes, I earnt it, I can spend it. Someone that doesn't want me to change and be someone I'm not. Someone who'll accept that I like things clean and tidy and I like to cook. Please don't try and take over. Yes, I know you're only trying to help but I will smack your knuckles with a spoon if you try and stir my home-made lasagne sauce one more time. Leave it, it's simmering. I've got this under control.

3. Spend more time with my grandparents.

I love them to pieces and feel I've neglected them a bit recently. They won't be around forever and it'll hurt like hell when they're gone. I promise I won't even roll my eyes when they ask when they can expect great-grandchildren.

4. Enoy work.

Easier said than done. It's only a job. It pays the bills. The people are lovely. The customers may all be asshats but still, be thankful you're not that stupid.

5. Share the love.

I tell my friends I love them all the time. You never know when you'll next see them again. If you love someone, tell them. We spend our whole lives wanting to be loved and yet when we do actually love somone, we're terrified of telling them. I don't understand it.

6. Relax. Breathe. Let the past go.

Self explanatory.

No matter how small, it was still a victory. Like my lasagne. A moment to savour.
