For Bataille- sure you could start there, I mean- you could jump in anywhere- just do, you wont be disappointed. If you want something lighterThe Collected Poems of Georges Bataille beautiful (even though they are mostly about death). You might also want to try Visions of Excess: Selected Writings. He is also known for Death and Sensuality a study of erotic drive and taboo. Of course interesting, at times very slow- but it has one of my favorite quotes which I thought was his and now believe to be de Sade, the urge towards love, pushed to its limit, is an urge towards death.
