getting used to working weekends and having week days off - quite flexible company too.
bristol carling academy is a great venue and as expected the betaband were excellent. the support was from fellow scots the magnificents (similar stuff).

Have yet to make it to Atlantic Coast, I have to wait or Mother to drive me and get enough courage to have some tattooing and a piercing *cough* 'down below' in the same day....not sure I am man enough Have loads of Zep, made sure of that but can always do with some psychedelic wonder in my life

For Bataille- sure you could start there, I mean- you could jump in anywhere- just do, you wont be disappointed. If you want something lighterThe Collected Poems of Georges Bataille beautiful (even though they are mostly about death). You might also want to try Visions of Excess: Selected Writings. He is also known for Death and Sensuality a study of erotic drive and taboo. Of course interesting, at times very slow- but it has one of my favorite quotes which I thought was his and now believe to be de Sade, the urge towards love, pushed to its limit, is an urge towards death.

if you really need to compress it then do it while its still a wav yes , and do it before you convert it to 16bit 44.1k . I do not compress mine or other peoples that much , i leave that to big production mastering houses . The same goes for eq , i just tail of the low end sometimes , if all the parts are ok then so will the whole.
